The http://cumpararidirecte.investinhargita.ro/ web page, created by the Development Agency of Harghita County, subordinate institution of Harghita County Council, has been awarded by one of the most popular public administration portals of Romania: Administratie.ro. The award ceremony took place in Poiana Brasov, the 29th of September, where awards were given in several categories. Our web page won the title of the best practice in the following category: “The applicability of modern technology in public administration”.
The aim of this web page is to collect all direct purchases of the public institutions in Harghita county in one place. It was lunched 3 months ago, with the first registrants being Harghita County Council and all of its subordinate institutions. All subscribed entrepreneurs receive newsletters after the publication of each direct purchase: since the beginning, the system has sent out more than 17 000 newsletters, and the total value of all published direct purchases exceeds 2 000 000 RON. As the director of the Development Agency, Barabas Csaba put it, this sum is even more remarkable, as most of the purchases have a small value: they do not refer to big investments but to the everyday needs of the public institutions, such as firewood, potatoes and other food products, birotic devices, furniture, accommodation, catering and other services. The director said that he had received several positive feed-backs on the part of local entrepreneurs, some of them emphasizing that they could sell their products thanks to this web page.
However, there is still room for development and expansion: 41% of the published direct purchases are from Miercurea Ciuc, and only 8% from Gheorgehni, and less than 7% from Odorhei region. These regions should also catch up – said director Barabas Csaba.
